The gallery of the 50 of Arlequin will soon only be a memory for the residents of the Villeneuve. The controversial destruction of the building A’s north wing has indeed started a few days ago and should be finished by the end of the first semester 2014.
The silo car park of 475 spaces, situated next to the 60 apartments in the process of demolition, is still under construction and will be completed in September 2014, if the work schedule is respected.
As a reminder, these two large-scale operations are part of a 75 million EUR/euro plan, designed to open up the Villeneuve neighbourhood. « The neighbourhood was built in a self-centered way, turned inwards », reminded us in May Philippe de Longevialle, the deputy in charge of urbanism. The latter regretted the fact that he had no sight on « one of the most beautiful parcs in Grenoble » going through the Arlequin. This will soon be resolved.
